Template:FF2MajorGhostChitose Tachibana is the younger sister of Itsuki and Mutsuki Tachibana.

Chitose was not a twin, and she knew very little about the Crimson Sacrifice Ritual, and did not understand where Mutsuki had gone and why Itsuki's hair had turned white. According to her diary, her "eyes are not too good", and so Itsuki gave her a bell to wear on her wrist, so he would know if she went somewhere dangerous.[1]
Although she was very close to her brothers, Chitose was shy around strangers and had a habit of hiding in the closet whenever she was scared. Itsuki gave Chitose the key to his room and told her to give it to his friend, Ryozo Munakata, but Chitose was frightened and hid instead.[2] Meanwhile, Itsuki tried to help Yae and Sae Kurosawa escape the village before their own ritual, and was locked up in the Storehouse as punishment. Chitose blamed Yae for Itsuki's imprisonment.[3]
During the Repentance, Chitose hid inside a cupboard and became trapped. According to in-game notes, she was taken by the Darkness.
She mistakes Mio for Yae, as do other ghosts in the village, and attacks her, demanding the return of Itsuki.
Alternate Ending

In the Promise Ending, available in the Xbox and Wii versions of the game, Chitose can be seen in between her two brothers, looking up at the sky as the crimson butterflies fly away from the village.

Misc. Info
- Chitose's butterfly kimono can be seen on early production renders of twin shrine maidens.
- Chitose is one of the few ghosts in FF2 that has her own unique attack - she blinds the player for a few seconds.
- As an attacking ghost, Chitose goes by the name "Crimson Kimono".
- The cupboard Chitose crawls out of for the final battle has the words "Help me" scrawled all over the inner walls. An Easter Egg in the Tachibana House traps the player in a closet where the same words appear on the walls and can be seen in viewfinder mode.
