Mio and Mayu begin to make their way to the Kureha Shrine, where they can escape the village, but they are ambushed by a group of villagers who capture Mayu and take her away.
Mio follows her back to the Kurosawa House, this time encountering the Ceremony Master Ryokan Kurosawa in the Rope Temple. When defeated, he drops a key, allowing Mio to continue into the Underground Passage towards the forbidden place where Mayu is waiting for her. After a battle with the Kusabi, Mio descends to the Hellish Abyss.
In Easy or Normal Mode (PS2) and Normal or Hard Mode (XBox), this leads to the Crimson Butterfly Ending.
In Nightmare Mode (Xbox), this leads to the Promise Ending.

- Multiple copies of these ghosts will attack inside the Great Hall.
- Attack all the way down A Passageway in groups of two or three. They can be defeated, or stunned with a Zero shot and run past.
Boss Fight
- Encountered inside the Rope Temple.
- Final boss for Easy/Normal mode. His attack is a one-hit kill, even if you have a stone mirror.

Misc. Info
- Although called "Final Chapter", if playing on Hard or Nightmare difficulty it is technically the second-to-last chapter (due to the occurrence of "Chapter Zero: Hellish Abyss").
- It is possible to view one of the game's endings without playing through the whole chapter. Continuing on your escape through the shrine after Mayu has run off to the Kurosawa house will result in the Lingering Scent Ending playing, though it will result in a game over screen.
