Fourth chapter of Fatal Frame.
After the encounter inside the Banned Path, Miku finds herself back in the Demon Mouth right in front of the double doors leading to the Banned Path. After going inside, she encounters the spirits of the Himuro Family who were killed during a disaster but manages to push them back. As Miku walks through the path, she stops at a dead end and can't go any further. However, she sees her brother through a small hold in the rubble, walking further and further down the pathway. As Miku heads back to the entrance of the Banned Path, Miku encounters a little girl in a white kimono pointing to a book laying on the ground. When she reads it, Miku decides to make her way to the shrine in the Cherry Atrium...
On the way to the shrine, Miku notices the presence of a masked man walking outside to the Cherry Atrium in the Burial Room. Once Miku reaches the shrine, she discovers she needs to find a way to unlock the doors so that she is able to get in. Using the picture she took of the doors, Miku heads over to a room filled with 4 large Buddha Statues. There, she obtains four pieces of rope and a document telling her what to use with the ropes. With the ropes, she ties them to the statues in the order the document says: right hand, left hand, right leg, then left leg; he door to the large altar in the back then opens, revealing a teal stone inside it, which is used to unlock the door to the shrine.
However once Miku obtains the item, she then has a vision of a man running into the shrine, the same masked man as before chasing after him with a sword in his hand. He slashes the man's back and decapitates him much to Miku's horror. The man then looks at Miku and starts attacking her; Miku was luckily able to push him away.
After leaving the scene and unlocking the doors, Miku heads inside the shrine only to find out that the mechanism inside the shrine won't work unless she visits four grave mounds: one in front of the shrine, one on a little island, one in the Square Garden and one in the Backyard among the bamboo. Miku goes to visit each one and at each one, a headless man would attack her, each showing a character as they were sealed into the camera. After sealing the four, Miku heads back to the Shrine and uses the mechanism of the cabinet. The front side of the mechanism opened up, showing a recess with an odd presence coming up from it. Miku snaps a picture of it and notices a red liquid, similar to blood, shows up in the photo. As she lowers the camera, it is seen the red liquid is still being shown and is shows Miku the path to the Grand Hall. After entering the Grand Hall, Miku notices a large puddle of the liquid in the middle room and is attacked by the masked man once again; this time, Miku was able to seal his soul into the camera. As she defeated him, he drops a seal, which is used to place into the recess of the cabinet.
After placing the seal in the recess, the cabinet then moves away its place, revealing an empty well beneath the cabinet. Miku descends down into the well and notices a mummy of a woman inside the back wall of the well; a piece of a mirror besides it. After collecting the mirror, Miku notices the woman in the white kimono coming out of a puddle besides a door and coming after her. Miku tries to escape as she climbs up the ladder, nearly slipping. As the woman catches up, the same girl from the Banned Path appears at the top and helps Miku escape, crying out that Miku needs to "stop her" before its too late.
