Whisper Bridge Kanji 囁き橋 （ささやき ばし） Game Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Fatal Frame: Deep Crimson Butterfly Crimson Butterfly Remake Located at Minakami Village Function Bridge to Kurosawa House Status Destroyed by the Repentance

Whisper Bridge connects the Kurosawa House to the rest of Minakami Village. A large gate on either side separates this area from the others. Before the Crimson Sacrifice Ritual, the Twin Shrine Maidens or Altar Twins are accompanied across the bridge by Veiled Priests on their way to perform the ritual.

The lake below the bridge is known as "Houmei Ike" or "Tomonaki Pond" (朋鳴池) - Resonance Pond. "Houmei" and "Tomonaki" are alternate readings of the kanji; "Houmei" appears in storyboards shown in the Zero Shinku no Chou Walkthrough and Data Collection Book, while "Tomonaki" is used in the translation of Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake.

Ghosts Encountered

• Sunken Woman - attacks after cutscene.
• Man Under Bridge - vanishing ghost. (Deep Crimson Butterfly)

Notable Events

• Sunken Woman was pulled into the water underneath the bridge, possibly through the hole, and was killed.
• The Veiled Priests can be heard chanting from the Kurosawa House in Chapter 8.
• Taking Mayu here during Chapter 8 of Deep Crimson Butterfly triggers one of the four optional scenes that effect the ending. Mayu recalls the times Sae and Yae spent together by the shore, and Mio embraces her for a short while. In Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake, during Mayu's side story, a similar scene was added at Ukishima.
