Zero Novel

Tsukihara is described as a young woman with a professional but kind appearance. She knows Ioka, and meets him and Mafuyu in the lobby of the building. When she sees Mafuyu's business card, she is surprised to learn that he has the same name as a character in the game he has been invited to novelise. Along with Ioka and Shibaguchi, she tries to work out why Mafuyu and the game character have so many similarities, finally giving Mafuyu a beta copy of the game to play in case it should offer any answers. She does not accompany Mafuyu, Ioka and Shibaguchi when they go to investigate the real mansion that inspired the game.

While they explore, reality begins to blur into the game world, and the ruined house transforms into the fictional mansion. When Mafuyu makes his way to the Hell Gate, he finds Kitaike and Tsukihara there. Kitaike explains that only he, Mafuyu, Miku and Tsukihara are real. Everything else is a virtual projection combined with false memories implanted by hypnotism. The entire virtual construct exists to protect a real Hell Gate, the last in Japan. Tsukihara provides proof of this by making Shibaguchi vanish using her portable computer. While Kitaike gloats over Miku and Mafuyu, Tsukihara urges him to hurry and bind Miku to the gate as a sacrifice, to stop beings from the other world breaking loose.

Kitaike, however, continues to take his time celebrating his victory, and while he is distracted, Kirie uses her ropes to ensnare both him and Tsukihara. She strangles them nearly to death and then throws them through the half-open Hell Gate. Remorseful at all the pain she has caused, Kirie follows them through the gate, closing it behind her.
