Kiriko Asanuma is a ghost in Fatal Frame III. She was the victim and sole survivor of a murder/robbery. Two robbers broke into Kiriko Asanuma's family home and murdered her parents and brother. Asanuma evaded the burglars by hiding in the closet. Although she survived, she became reclusive, and four days after her parents' death, a neighbour reported that Kiriko was unable to leave her house. She was rescued by authorities and hospitalised.
Kiriko Asanuma disappeared on the 13th (year and month unknown), a month after she was first admitted to the hospital.[1] She appears to have been suffering from the Tattooed Curse, and after death, she became a hostile spirit, trapped in the Manor of Sleep.
Miku encounters her crawling under the floor, and Rei encounters her in the attic above Yuu's Room and in the Futon Room. Kiriko's ghost generally appears in confined spaces, and she is unable to find her way out into the Manor's open areas.[2]
