Stroller Grandma is a ghost that haunts the Manor of Sleep. According to her entry in the ghost list, she was distraught over her grandchild's death, and secretly dug it up from the grave. If you manage to look inside the stroller when she attacks, you may catch a glimpse of a cluster of distorted infant faces.[1]
Going to the dream exit in the Foyer during Hour IX will trigger a battle with Stroller Grandma. After she is defeated, she will drop the Notched Arrow Key, needed to unlock the wooden barred area next to the exit. If she manages to drain all your health, even if you have a Stone Mirror, she will disappear and leave you with nothing.
Misc. Info
- This ghost was inspired by a strange encounter Makoto Shibata had as a child. He was playing in the ruins of an abandoned house (the house that inspired the Manor of Sleep) when he noticed an old woman pushing a stroller.[2][3]
- During battles with her, you can hear Stroller Grandma humming the Handmaiden's Song, and a baby crying.
- She is the only ghost in Fatal Frame III to not be pushed back by a Fatal Frame Shot (or any type of shot).
- Although she makes very little of an appearance in story mode, she is an attacking ghost in multiple missions.
