The Shrine of Sleep was built to prevent the spread of the Rift after the Unleashing. Yashuu Kuze ordered that it be constructed after the Rift Shrine failed to contain the pain of the priestess.

The borders of the Shrine of Sleep are marked by the four Doll Altars and the Sacrificial Pillar Room, where Tengai Narumi sacrificed himself to be a cornerstone. It encompasses the entire manor, from the Stained Corridor to the Spirit Tree Garden. At the point where the Shrine of Sleep and the Rift Shrine meet, a Spirit Tree was planted.

After the Shrine of Sleep had been constructed, the Manor was sealed off.
