Myojin Village is a mountain village mentioned in Fatal Frame III. Makie Kuzuhara lived there with her husband and daughter in the Taisho era (1912-1926).[1] After Makie's husband went missing, she and her daughter wandered the mountains searching for him, and eventually a concerned neighbour visited their house before dawn and found them missing. According to a news article about the incident, similar disappearances were being reported across the region at the time.
