Kozue Kuzuhara a ghost in Fatal Frame III. She succumbed to the Tattooed Curse and became trapped in the Manor of Sleep with her mother, Makie.

Background

Kozue lived in Myojin Village with her mother and father sometime in the Taisho era (1912-1926). One day, Kozue's father suffered a fall and died while trying to reach her ball. Kozue was too frightened to tell her mother what had really happened, and although Makie guessed the truth, she tried to spare Kozue's feelings by pretending he was simply missing. In the following months, Makie and Kozue would wander the mountains almost every day, searching for the man both knew to be dead.

At some point, mother and daughter began suffering from the Tattooed Curse, and finally succumbed. A neighbour realized they hadn't been seen for several days, and went to check on them, but found only black, soot-like marks.

Fatal Frame III

In death, Kozue haunts the Manor of Sleep and accuses everyone she meets of killing her father. At first she and her mother attack together, but in Hour III, Kozue can be found in different locations around the Manor, hiding from her mother's grief and crying for her father. Finding every location and photographing her spirit there, and battling Kozue alone, results in completion of the "Mother and Daughter" sidequest, and the player is rewarded with the scrap of paper on which she has written her confession.

• In both versions, Kozue's voice is provided by the same actress as Amane Kuze: April Hong in the English version and Miyuu Tsuzuhara in the Japanese version.
