Red ink (朱) was one of two inks used by Engravers of the Kuze Shrine to create Ink of the Soul. The ink was created from the blood of the living. The Engravers collected this blood from worshippers who visited the Kuze Shrine to offer their pain to the Priestess.[1] It was mixed with indigo ink to create Ink of the Soul.
