Rei Kurosawa's House
| ||||||||||||||||
Rei Kurosawa's house is where Rei lives with Miku Hinasaki and, until recently, Yuu Asou. Since Rei is a freelance photographer, it is both a residence and a place of work, and hence the location where much of Fatal Frame III takes place.
Rei states that since Yuu's death, she rarely leaves the house except for photography job assignments, and during the game she only leaves once to visit Yoshino Takigawa at Katsuragi Hospital. When Rei is not exploring the Manor of Sleep in her dreams, she can continue investigating the manor in the real world, by checking the shelves in Yuu's Room, or giving Miku photographs to research.
Rei's house was designed to be dim and gloomy, with the curtains always closed and the sound of rain outside a constant presence. The sombre, rainy mood of the house reflects Rei's state of mind.[1] Checking various items around the house will prompt Rei to think about how much her life has changed since Yuu's death - her gratitude for Miku's help and support, her lack of interest in things she used to enjoy, and the pain she feels at memories of Yuu.
