Sleeping In The Rain
Sleeping In The Rain (雨に眠る Ame ni Nemuru) by Mizuki Fuuju is the second chapter in the Zero Shisei no Koe Comic Anthology.
Story
The story begins with Rei and Yuu sitting together, while Yuu reads aloud from a book. Rei isn't interested in the story, but enjoys being in his presence and hearing his voice. Next, Yuu's death is shown, and Rei wakes suddenly from a dream she has been having ever since then, in which she wanders a mansion searching for Yuu.
A ghostly apparition of a woman appears in her room, her body etched with tattoos. While Rei sits frozen in terror, the woman tells her about the accident in which her loved one died, running into a burning house because he thought that she was still inside.
Rei wakes again, this time to Miku's voice. She tells Miku of her strange dream about the woman. Miku reacts unexpectedly, grabbing Rei and warning her not to sympathise too much with the apparitions in her dreams, or she will be unable to leave.
That night Rei dreams once more of the mansion, and again sees the ghost of the woman. The woman says that the tattoos are spreading, but worse, her memory of the person she loved is fading. Although she remembers Miku's warning, Rei hugs the woman and tells her to forgive herself. As the woman stares at her in surprise, her tattoos begin to fade.
When Rei wakes again, she finds Miku standing over her and calling her name, worried because Rei wouldn't wake up. Rei starts to cry, disgusted by her own hypocrisy in telling the woman to forgive herself when she cannot do the same. She still blames herself, not only for Yuu's death, but for allowing herself to forget him.
In the dream mansion, the woman Rei consoled is confronted by another spirit, whose body is completely covered with tattoos. In spite of the woman's pleas for forgiveness, the tattoos begin to spread on her body once more. While Miku and Rei sit together, listening to the rain, the woman tries to escape, but the doors slam shut.

- This story mistakenly says that a year has passed since Yuu's death. In the game, it is actually two months.
