Template:FF2 Minor CharacterMisao Amakura is the father of Mio and Mayu Amakura, the heroines of Fatal Frame II. He is a descendant of Dr. Kunihiko Asou, which means he is also related to Yuu Asou and Misaki Asou, but their precise relationship is unknown. When Misao married Shizu Amakura, he took her last name.
Like Shizu, Misao grew up in the mountains near Minakami Village.[1] When Mio and Mayu were very young, Misao became lost in the woods and went missing. Shizu told her daughters that he was dead, but in truth he had become trapped in the Lost Village.[1]
The girls only knew their father through photographs since he died when they were so young, but shortly before the events of the game, Mayu has a dream about him. In the dream, Misao desperately chases after the twins, who are running off into the forest, but can't catch up to them.[2] The dream feels to Mayu almost like a memory of the past, and seems to hint at how her father comes to be trapped in the village.
Misc. Info
- When Makoto Shibata and the developers were discussing the Hellish Abyss Ending, they imagined that Mio glimpses her father among the writhing dead at the bottom of the Hellish Abyss. Since Misao's story did not make it into the final game, this was never made explicit.[3]
