Kurosawa's Antiques
|
Kurosawa Antiques Shop is a major setting in Fatal Frame V. It is a curio shop and café owned by Hisoka Kurosawa. It was originally an antiques shop, but Hisoka refurbished it when she took over to fulfil her dream of running a café.[1] Hisoka also uses it as the base for her shadow reading business, and for her hobby of fortune-telling on the side. After Hisoka saved Yuri Kozukata from a suicide attempt, Yuri asked to stay for a while, and began helping out in the shop.
The street outside the shop is based on streets in the old town of Hida-Takayama, while the interior is intended to look like a traditional Kyoto townhouse that has been remodelled.[2] The building has several spare rooms towards the back, which Hisoka keeps ready in case someone she has rescued needs a place to stay. There is also a bathroom with a large bath (shown only in cutscenes) and an office full of books where the residents can check the CCTV footage. The courtyard garden has a well which draws water from Mount Hikami.[3]
