Priestess of the Rift - Account of the Vanished Patients (狭間の巫女-入院患者失踪事件テン末記 Hazama no Miko - Nyuuin Kanja Shissou Jiken Ten Matsu Ki) by Goldie Toriishi is the eighth chapter in the Zero Shisei no Koe Comic Anthology.
Story
The story focuses on Haruka Kuze, a nurse at Murayama General Hospital. Haruka is visited by Miku Hinasaki, who is looking for information on Yoshino Takigawa, one of the hospital's patients. Haruka explains that Yoshino is suffering from PTSD following a plane crash in which all of her family died, and that she is plagued by tattoos that nobody else can see. However, Haruka admits that she herself can see them, along with many other strange things. As Miku walks away, Haruka appears to see her walking towards a tattooed woman and a shadowy mansion, with the spirit of a girl hanging over her.
After her mother's death, Haruka found an antique camera, as well as a notebook belonging to one of her ancestors. The woman wrote that she lived near the grand manor of the Kuze Family, and once visited it as a child. This visit took place after the Unleashing, and the girl saw Shrine Carpenters carrying out repairs, some covered in tattoos. After meeting Miku at the hospital, Haruka has a vivid dream about this visit.
At work the next day, Haruka is checking Yoshino's pulse when Yoshino starts up in bed, screaming that she doesn't want to see any more. Haruka tries to comfort her, but the tattoos spread to her as well. Yoshino disappears, leaving behind only a black stain, and Haruka collapses.
After the incident in Yoshino's room, Haruka feels unwell, and starts to dream about her ancestor again. As a girl, her ancestor saw the Tattooed Priestess. She thought the priestess was pretty, although her eyes were sad, but her mother said the priestess was not suitable.
The two never returned to the mansion, but the girl's mother told her later that everyone who lived there vanished overnight. The girl had a dream about the mansion that night, in which she saw her dead father and tried to follow him in; she would have stayed, but her mother woke her.
Haruka's dream of her ancestor changes. Now she dreams that she is inside the mansion, haunted by a tattooed woman. She sees Rei Kurosawa, Miku Hinasaki and Kei Amakura, but none of them can see her. Just as her tattoo is starting to spread, Haruka hears someone calling her name. A shadowy figure leads her towards the entrance of the manor, and gives her a camera, telling her if she keeps it she'll be fine. Haruka realises the ghost is her father, but when she tries to follow him back inside the mansion the figure of her ancestor's mother appears, declaring that she is not the priestess who seals the Rift, and commanding her to wake up. The snakes vanish from Haruka's body, and with only a fading vision of her parents standing side by side, she wakes up back in her room.
Afterwards, Haruka no longer dreams of the manor. She believes that she was protected by something, but still thinks about Rei, Kei and Miku, wondering whether they are still trapped there.
