Lost Patients

'Lost Patients' is a term given to a specific group of people who have been 'Spirited Away' within the Fatal Frame Series. Part of hospital urban legend, it is a nickname the hospital staff give to patients who are suffering from a series of strange symptoms before completely disappearing the hospital without a trace.
Lost Patients are usually diagnosed with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), complain of having mystery pains that doctors have no explaination for, describe seeing what appear to be bruises on covering their bodies, and sleep for days at a time. When these patients disappear, the only traces left behind are sooty marks, and their disappearance usually occurs within 1-2 months of hospitalization.
The main difference between Lost Patients and other victims of the Tattooed Curse is that they have been admitted to the hospital or a medical facility in an attempt for treatment. Thus, their symptoms and behaviour have been recorded and documented.
