Rei finds herself inside the Hanging Prison, with everything in monochrome, like her daydream. She makes her way through the Manor, greeted by bowing Handmaidens, until she reaches the garden corridor and opens the double doors. The daydream ends abruptly; the doors are still sealed, and Tengai Narumi attacks.
She pursues his vanishing ghost to the Stained Corridor, and finds the Sacrificial Pillar room in the very center. The seal broken, she returns to the Garden Corridor and opens the doors.

In this chapter, there are several optional sidequests that can be completed for extra ghost battles, notes and items.
Notched Arrow Key Sidequest
If you go to the main Foyer, you will be attacked by Stroller Grandma. She will drop the Notched Arrow Key, which allows you to open the small gate next to the entrance. This leads to a secret passage containing a Stone Mirror. You will emerge in the area of the Partitioned Room where Yoshino Takigawa has hidden herself; she will attack as well, and when defeated, will drop the Measure Function and a photograph. This will give you an extra note about Yoshino.
Calico Notebook Sidequest
Go to the Room with Blind and check the futon behind the screens. You will find Calico Notebook 2, and Yashuu Kuze will attack.
Rope Shrine Maiden Sidequest
Go to the Himuro Mansion area and take a photo of the Rope Altar for an undeveloped photo. As you return to the Rope Hallway, a vanishing ghost of Kizuna Himuro will fall from the ceiling, and then Kizuna herself will attack. Developing the altar photo will allow you to find The Rope Priestess in Yuu's Room and get an extra note about Himuro Mansion.
Crawling Woman Sidequest
Go to the Futon Room and open the closet. Quickly photograph the vanishing ghost of Kiriko Asanuma, and then defeat her attacking ghost for an undeveloped photo. Miku will research the photograph and give you the article Rescued Woman, Gone.
If you wake up after completing this sidequest, develop the photo, have Miku research it and obtain the file before the end of Hour IX, it will trigger a small Easter Egg event in Rei's House.
